This film about ancient cultural trails and the villages they connect was created as part of the project VISUAL CONTACT | CONTATTO VISIVO | NA PRVI POGLED by Klagenfurt’s University Cultural Centre UNIKUM.
In Slovenia’s Karst region this cinematic inspection takes us from Gradin to Abitanti, further to Hrvoi and Tropolovec to Sirci. The trail itself, at times orderly, then wildly overgrown, consistently accompanied by old stone walls, defines the dramaturgy, while the villages interrupt the journey and create very different atmospheres. The few people still living there today help us with directions to the next village. The partly ruined buildings and the overgrown croplands tell a story of a better time.
