For the landlady, the day she left the hut on the Dobratsch mountain forever, was one of the happiest of her life. The meteorologist has observed and calculated every change in climate on the summit for forty years. The operator of the motorway service area in the Schütt (landslide area of the Dobratsch mountain) is a conservationist motivated by tourism. The manager of the cable cars is forced to experience the shut down of his life's work.
These are people who had their lives shaped by the Dobratsch mountain and who in turn shaped the mountain themselves.
The film focuses on this symbiotic existence while also keeping an eye on the everyday and the alterations of life. Very personal stories, conveying impressions of life on and with the mountain.
